Huang Jia Restaurant
Contemporary Cantonese Cuisine in a Modern Family Setting
Located at the newly revamped Leisure Park shopping mall at Kallang, Huang Jia is probably Singapore’s best kept secret for traditional Cantonese cuisine in a stylish, contemporary setting.
Launched in December 2007, the Chinese restaurant stands out for its extensive menu of comforting choices as well as its arresting, intimate ambience. Located just at the fringe of the city near the Kallang Indoor Stadium, a stone’s throw away from the surrounding residential community and a few minutes drive from the CBD, Huang Jia makes an ideal destination for casual dining with friends and family at lunch and dinner.
“With Huang Jia, we hope to provide a comfortable yet elegant environment for our guests to keep coming back for the excellent Cantonese food and dim sum prepared by our team of experienced chefs."
At Huang Jia, diners will be pleased with the newly updated menu of Cantonese favourites and exciting dim sum choices. These are crafted by the culinary team of 14 Chinese chefs who have polished their craft at top Chinese restaurants and hotels in Asia.
New A La Carte Creations
Since it opened late last year, Huang Jia has recently introduced various new items to keep guests coming back for more. Highly recommended dishes are the Braised Superior Shark’s Fins with Crab Roe ($38 per person) and the star attraction – the sizzling Imperial Black Pepper Baked Lobster in Claypot ($30), which is cooked in a heady concoction of black pepper, seven herbs and Chinese wine.
Meat lovers will not be able to resist the melt-in-your-mouth Sauteed Diced Beef With Black Pepper and Mint Leaf ($20 per portion), as well as a family favourite, the Imperial Special Roasted Crispy Chicken ($16 Half/ $32 Whole) which has been marinated in five spices and slowly roasted to a perfect crisp but still retaining a tender flavourful moist meat. Other highlights feature the likes of the comforting Stewed Bee Hoon Topped With Fresh Crabmeat ($8 per person) and Fish Floss Olive Vegetable Fried Rice ($16 per person).
Open daily for lunch and dinner, Huang Jia also presents enticing set menus that are priced from $38++ per person for a sumptuous six-course set lunch and from $68++ per person for a seven-course set dinner. There is also a good selection of Old and New World wines, including a special white port, to complement the meal.
A Stylish Backdrop For All Events
With its intimate setting and elegant ambience, Huang Jia makes an inviting backdrop for everyday casual dining and special events. Unlike traditional Chinese restaurants, the restaurant offers plush oversized armchairs and spacious seating, characterised by gorgeous crystal chandeliers hanging from a high ceiling.
The pillar-less main dining room
which can seat up to 200 is already a popular venue with modern
couples who are looking for an intimate contemporary wedding but
yet offer traditional tastes for their guests. What’s more,
there is generous parking for guests at the mall. Wedding packages
start from $588++ per table on weekdays.
There are also two luxurious private dining rooms that are perfect
for corporate dining or private functions where the team of chefs
is able to prepare special set menus for any occasions.
